Celta Vigo vs Villarreal


This promises to be a good game between two teams who have 
recently changed their coaches. 


Both are fresh from excellent wins last time out and I’m expecting 
a relatively even match here.


Celta Vigo’s problem this season under Chacho Coudet was in 
defence with too many goals conceded and that has been a regular 
theme for them in recent years too. It seems like they are going to be a 
more cautious side under new boss Carlos Carvalhal who is using three 
centre-backs rather than two as they try to stop leaking so many goals.


So far, his plan has been relatively effective with only one goal 
conceded in their last three league games, a big improvement. 


Playing with one fewer midfielder does make it harder for them to 
get control in central areas, but they can still carry an attacking threat 
via their wing-backs who have a bit more freedom to get forward with 
this new system, particularly Javi Galan on the left side.


There’s certainly potential for Celta to cause problems here with 
crosses into the box from wide areas, particularly with Villarreal missing
their most physical centre-back Raul Albiol to suspension. 


The recent departure of Villarreal’s first choice goalkeeper 
Gerónimo Rulli could also contribute to a bit of defensive uncertainty
here so the home team should create chances.


Overall though, we saw the clearest evidence yet that Villarreal are 
now heading in the right direction under Quique Setien with an 
excellent performance and win against Real Madrid last weekend. 


It has taken a bit of time, but it feels like the players are now starting 
to adapt to and believe in his style of football.


They should cause more problems for this improving Celta defence 
than their recent opponents have and I expect we’ll see both teams 
create some good openings in this game and it may end up in a draw.

시간이 좀 걸렸지만 이제 선수들이 그의 축구 스타일에 적응하고 
믿기 시작하는 것 같습니다.


그들은 최근 상대 팀보다 개선된 셀타 비고의 수비에 더 많은 문제를 
야기해야 하며 두 팀 모두 이번 경기에서 좋은 기회를 만들어 
무승부로 끝날 수 있을 것으로 예상합니다.
