Girona vs Barcelona


This is a Catalan derby and it’s only the fifth time the clubs have ever 
met in a league game so it’s a big occasion for Girona as they try to
upset their larger neighbours. 


Both sides are in good form overall but I’d still expect 
Barcelona to edge this.


We saw a slightly different approach from Girona last weekend 
against Villarreal as they adopted a more cautious mentality than 
usual in an attempt to frustrate their opponents. 


It worked quite well until Santi Bueno’s 78th minute red card 
and while they did ultimately lose 1-0 to a very late penalty, 
we may see a similar kind of set-up here against another 
team that favours patient passing football.


Girona boss Michel has perhaps learned from games earlier 
in the season such as the 5-3 loss to Real Sociedad that 
their ultra attacking ways can leave them too vulnerable 
defensively against the top sides. 


He may look to keep things tighter here as a result and 
look to a set-piece or counter attack for 
his team’s main goal threat.


Barcelona have looked so strong defensively though that 
they should be able to limit Girona to few clear openings 
in this game. Summer signings Andreas Christensen and 
Jules Kounde have started to look really assured in central 
defence and if anything Barcelona’s problem right now 
is at the other end, which isn’t normal for them.


They are missing Robert Lewandowski again as the striker 
completes his suspension and Barcelona have only managed 
to score once in each of their last three league games. 


Ansu Fati will most likely lead the line again but the 20 year 
old hasn’t been anywhere near the level he reached prior 
to his extensive injury problems.


He doesn’t offer much of a physical presence but with 
Ferran Torres also banned and Memphis Depay having joined
Atletico Madrid, Xavi has little option but to go with 
Fati again as his central forward player. 


That leaves Barça without a natural target to play off, 
however they have enough quality in midfield and 
wide areas that it’s likely they’ll once again 
manage to find a match-winning goal.

더 신중한 방식을 채택하면서 평소와 다른 플레이
하는 것을 봤습니다.


산티아고 부에노의 78분 레드 카드까지 좋은 플레이를 보여줬고
매우 늦은 페널티킥에 1-0으로 패했지만, 
우리는 인내심 있는 패스 축구를 선호하는 다른 팀을 상대로 
비슷한 플레이를 할 것으로 예상할 수 있습니다.


지로나의 감독 미셸은 아마도 레알 소시에다드에 5-3으로 패한 것과 같은 
시즌 초반의 경기들을 통해 그들의 초대형 공격 방식이 상위 팀에 대해 
수비적으로 너무 취약하게 만들 수 있다는 것을 배웠을 것입니다. 


그는 결과적으로 여기서 상황을 더 조여두고 팀의 주요 골 위협에 
대한 세트 피스 또는 역습을 기대할 수 있습니다.


바르셀로나는 이번 경기에서 지로나를 몇 번의 확실한 오프닝으로 제한할 수 
있을 정도로 수비적으로 매우 강해 보였습니다. 


계약을 맺은 안드레아스 크리스텐센과 쥘 쿤데는 중앙 수비에서
자신감 있는 플레이를 선보였지만 현재 바르셀로나의 문제는
다른 쪽에 있습니다.


공격수가 출장 정지를 완료하고 바르셀로나가 최근 세 번의 리그 경기에서
각각 한 번밖에 득점하지 못하면서 
로버트 레반도프스키의 명성을 놓치고 있습니다. 


안수 파티가 다시 선두를 차지할 가능성이 높지만,
20세의 선수는 광범위한 부상 문제 이전에 도달한 수준에
미칠 수 있는지 확신 할 수 없습니다.


그는 신체적인 존재감을 많이 제공하지 않지만, 
페란 토레스 또한 금지되었고 멤피스 데파이가 아틀레티코 마드리드에 
합류하면서 사비는 파티와 함께 다시 중앙 공격수로 가는 것 외에는 
선택의 여지가 거의 없습니다. 


이로 인해 바르사는 승부처가 마땅치 않지만 미드필드와 전반적으로
충분한 자질을 갖추고 있어 다시 한 번 결승골을 
찾을 수 있을 것으로 보입니다.
