There is still something a bit unconvincing about Villarreal 
under Quique Setien and it’s questionable whether 
they will be good enough to come here and turn their inevitable 
dominance of possession into goals and three points. 


Elche were reduced to 10 men in the 1st Half at Sevilla 
last weekend so it’s hard to read much into their 3-0 defeat 
but their previous two performances were definitely better. 


If they can find a way to avoid silly defensive errors in this game, 
structurally they should be competitive as they play 
a very similar 3-4-2-1 system to the Celta Vigo side 
that dominated Villarreal only a few weeks ago. 


If Elche can avoid conceding early which would be a big knock 
to their already fragile confidence levels, I could see them 
growing into this game and potentially getting a result.
