Elche finally won their first league game of the 2022/23 season
last time out, beating Villarreal 3-1 at home thanks to
Pere Milla’s hat-trick.
However any hope of Milla, arguably their most talented player,
now leading them on an unlikely survival push can be ruled out
after the 30 year old fractured his collarbone which
will rule him out for at least two months.
They’ll be hoping to catch Real Madrid cold on the back of
their trip to the Club World Cup but it’s hard to make a case
for Elche in this game with the bottom club also missing
two players to suspension. Los Blancos meanwhile are
hopeful that Karim Benzema and potentially Eder Militao,
who both missed the trip to Morocco, will be fit for this game.
Even with Vini Junior being suspended, Carlo Ancelotti’s
side shouldn’t have any trouble putting
a few goals past LaLiga’s worst defence.
