This is a bottom of the table clash and a “must win” game 

if Elche are going to have even the slightest chance of staying up. 

They did finally win their last home game against Villarreal 

but their hat-trick hero on that day Pere Milla is now out injured 

and we saw another calamitous defensive display from them 

at the Santiago Bernabeu in midweek. 

Here, they are up against a team that has been almost as bad as 

them defensively at times this season. 

Espanyol have numerous selection problems too 

which has contributed to some of their recent defeats and 

they’ll be missing defender Leandro Cabrera to suspension. 

Much may hinge on whether they can get centre-back Cesar Montes

and striker Joselu fit in time. Both are doubts as it stands and 

even against the weakest of possible opponents, 

it’s hard to see them getting through a game without conceding 

goals with a draw perhaps the most likely outcome in this one.
