Athletic Club vs Girona
Having scored just once in their previous four league games, Girona
bounced back in style with the 6-2 thrashing of Almeria last time out.
They won’t find the Athletic defence anywhere near as charitable,
however I still fancy Girona to score at least once in this game with their
wide players all looking dangerous on the previous matchday while
Aleix Garcia continues to excel in midfield.
Athletic have selection problems in central defence with Dani Vivian
suspended and Inigo Martinez unlikely to be fit again.
That should aid Girona’s chances here but they may struggle to cope
at the other end.
In-form Oihan Sancet’s advanced runs from midfield have become a
major weapon for Athletic and I’d expect him to be a factor again
while there should be some joy for their wingers Nico Williams and
Alex Berenguer against Girona’s attack-minded full-backs.
