Real Madrid created chances but couldn’t find the breakthrough
against Real Betis last weekend and dropped points they really couldn’t
afford as they chase Barcelona. They will need to be more clinical
in the upcoming games but they are certainly capable of that as we’ve
seen in recent high-scoring wins over Elche and Liverpool.
Against one of the weakest defences in the league, Real Madrid
should create more than enough opportunities to win this game,
particularly with all their creative midfield options likely to be available.
Espanyol’s attacking midfield and forward line is quite capable
of asking a few questions though and I wouldn’t be surprised
if they scored at some point, with crosses into Joselu potentially
their best route to a goal.
