Elche recorded a surprise win at Mallorca last weekend and while
they did benefit from a controversial VAR decision in
Stoppage Time which preserved their 1-0 advantage,
they were probably due some luck after
a host of calls went against them in their previous game.
This is the first time in months that they actually go into a league
game as favourites, although only marginally so with
Real Valladolid also victors last time out.
It’s likely to be a close game but I fancy Lucas Boye may just be the
difference maker for Elche.
He has looked a bit sharper in recent weeks and
scored a fine goal last time out.
At his best, he’s a really effective target man who can bring
other players into the game and with Elche playing with a bit
more belief now, they may just be too strong for a Real Valladolid
side that has lost 75% of their away games this season in LaLiga.
