This game falls in the middle of a European tie for both sides but
Real Betis have the considerably tougher opponent and a bit
less scope for rotation with two important players missing in the
shape of Nabil Fekir and William Carvalho.
We saw a more convincing Villarreal in the Second Half against
Getafe and away to Almeria last weekend and it’s hard to understate
how much stronger they look with Gerard Moreno on the pitch.
The forward should be fit to lead the line here and I can see them
having a bit too much for Betis who may also prioritise their
glamour European tie against Manchester United.
It’s also the kind of matchup that Villarreal tend to enjoy given
Betis are a positive team who will allow their opponents
a bit of space to play in.
