Girona vs Espanyol
This Catalan derby should serve up goals with both sides better
at scoring them than they are at keeping them out.
Girona are the favourites but they’ve only taken one point
from their last three games and Aleix Garcia is a really big absentee
for them in midfield.
I’d still expect them to hurt Espanyol in wide areas
with Viktor Tsyhankov and Rodrigo Riquelme now cemented
as the first choice wingers and
they are always well supported by the full-backs.
Girona’s defence continues to look vulnerable though
and I don’t see them coping well with Joselu
whose confidence levels will be sky high after he scored twice
on debut for Spain last weekend at the age of 33.
An open game looks likely with chances for both teams
and I could see it ending in a score draw.
