Real Valladolid picked up a surprise win at in-form Villarreal
last weekend to make it 4 points from 2 games so far under
new coach Paulo Pezzolano.
The Uruguayan certainly seems to be getting more out of their
attacking players with Moroccan midfielder Selim Amallah
benefitting from a bit more freedom which has helped him score
in both games since the change.
Even under previous boss Pacheta, they were playing quite well
at home and they’ve every chance of taking another big leap
towards safety here with three points against a Girona side
that has won just twice away this season.
The visitors are missing their main striker Taty Castellanos to
suspension and while his likely replacement Cristhian Stuani still
carries a genuine goal threat, the 36 year old is not as mobile
and Girona’s counter-attacking threat
will be much more limited as a result.
