Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid


With the next fortnight seeing Real Madrid play both 
legs of their Champions League Semi-Final against Manchester City, 
as well as a domestic cup final, this game will not be 
a big priority for Carlo Ancelotti.

with a good opportunity to further their top four ambitions.

Mikel Oyarzabal, Take Kubo and Alexander Sorloth should be fresh 
to return and are capable of causing problems for a Real Madrid 
defence that hasn’t looked convincing in recent league games.


We saw the usually dependable Eder Militao have one of the worst 
games of his career in the 4-2 defeat against Girona last week and 
there were two more goals conceded in the home game against lowly 
Almeria on Saturday. 


With Carlo Ancelotti’s first choice eleven already fairly clear, 
there isn’t really the impression that places are up for grabs in the 
big cup games that lie ahead, so it’s perhaps not surprising we’ve seen 
a slight drop in Real Madrid’s motivation and concentration levels 
in the last two league fixtures.


Aside from the likely rotation, Real Madrid are already missing some 
important players here with Vini Junior and Eduardo Camavinga 
suspended which will make them much less threatening on the left flank. 


Up against a Real Sociedad side that is fighting hard for 
Champions League qualification, there’s every chance Los Blancos 
will fall to another midweek defeat.
