That effectively ends their season as they don’t have anything to
play for in LaLiga and I think they may struggle to match the energy
levels of a highly motivated Valencia side here.
The hosts will approach the game with a bit more belief after the
perfect weekend which saw them win at Celta while all of
their relegation rivals lost.
Salvation is a lot closer now and that’s thanks to two unlikely
sources with little known youngsters Javi Guerra and
Alberto Mari both coming off the bench to score
late winners in the last two weeks.
Facing strong opponents here, particularly with a slight cushion
now built up on the relegation zone, may also help ease
some of the pressure that has been on these young Valencia
players and this could be a difficult afternoon for Real Madrid
who are likely to once again rest some of their regular starters.
