This is a repeat of the Copa del Rey Semi-Final which Osasuna won
in Extra Time in the 2nd Leg.
Athletic will be out for revenge in what is a really important game
for both sides in the race for Europe.
I fancy Osasuna may just have the edge again.
They rotate perhaps more often than any other side in LaLiga,
with even the goalkeepers alternating on a regular basis,
so they are quite well suited to these busier periods
with midweek action.
They can also take encouragement from Athletic’s unconvincing
form and problems in defence with first choice centre-backs
Inigo Martinez and Yeray Alvarez potentially both out again.
We saw them collapse and concede 5 goals at Villarreal
in similar circumstances in their last away game and
while Osasuna aren’t quite as well blessed in the final third
to capitalise on that, the home team may still be capable
of claiming a win that would give them a real chance of taking
the Conference League place, potentially at Athletic’s expense.
