It’s hard to see this being a particularly high tempo game
with Sevilla only four days away from a European Final
while Real Madrid are cruising towards their summer break
with nothing to play for.
Sevilla need to win to maintain a really clear chance of getting
7th place but I’d still expect José Luis Mendilibar to rest
some players ahead of the meeting with Roma next week
which will be the priority,
particularly after they could only draw at Elche in midweek
with Pape Gueye’s 18th minute red card the turning point
in that game.
In theory it’s a good opportunity for Real Madrid
to take advantage but the visitors have issues too
with Karim Benzema carrying a minor injury
while there are doubts over whether Vini Junior will start
at the end of an emotional week.
He is available after the suspension for his red card was rescinded
but it feels like Real Madrid may not be at their best
in the final third again, so a draw could well be the outcome.
