Getafe vs Osasuna
Getafe’s week has delivered four points but in the reverse order
to what might have been expected,
with a draw at home to bottom club Elche followed
by a surprise win at Betis which gives them a
much better chance of survival.
They were perhaps a bit fortunate to get that kind of return
and in truth it hasn’t been massively convincing
since Jose Bordalas’ return,
although there have been defensive improvements.
Their midweek win carried a massive cost though
with star player and top scorer Enes Ünal suffering
a serious cruciate ligament injury that will rule him out
for potentially the remainder of 2023.
A set-piece goal settled the game at Betis,
but it’s hard to see where their goals will come from now
and Osasuna will back themselves to come here and
keep things tight defensively.
Jagoba Arrasate’s side are making a strong push for Europe
but will also be missing their most in-form forward Ante Budimir
to suspension here.
A low-scoring game looks very likely and it may end up all square.
