This could be the final home game for a number of Real Madrid players
potentially including Karim Benzema with conflicting reports about
his future this week amidst strong rumours of a move to Saudi Arabia.
While it’s not a particularly important game for Los Blancos,
I still expect them to sign off with a win. After a really intense period,
they’ll have benefited from a midweek rest and
Carlo Ancelotti is expecting to have all his key players available here.
I expect them to be too strong for Athletic Club who are fighting for
7th place but suffered a disastrous home defeat against
bottom club Elche last weekend.
Despite creating a host of clear chances and having 27 attempts,
their inability to finish cost them once more and
Lucas Boye struck in Stoppage Time to seal a 1-0 win for the visitors.
They won’t get anywhere near as many chances here and now
look set tomiss out on European football again.
