Inter vs Atalanta
Inter are going to take some serious stopping
if they’re going to be caught by anyone in the race
to become Serie A champions come the end of the season.
Coming off the back of a hectic schedule
that has seen them travel away to Roma and
face Juventus and Atletico this past week in the Champions League,
Simone Inzaghi’s men would’ve been forgiven for appearing tired
and a little rundown.
A heavy rotation took place on Sunday night for the trip
to Lecce and despite a touch of scratchy defending before the break,
Inter clicked into gear and found a way to win comfortably.
A victory of 4-0 thanks to a double
from their skipper Lautaro Martinez,
who now has more league goals this year
than at any point in his Intee career,
Davide Frattesi and veteran defender Stefan De Vrij.
The victory proved their worth and their ability
to still maintain high levels of performance despite heavy rotation.
They will have to continue that trend
if they are to beat an in form Atalanta side
who are set to play on San Siro for the second time in four days.
Powered by the Dutch international Teun Koopmeiners,
Gian Piero Gasperini’s La Dea are well in the hunt for Europe and
will know that a win could take them up to fourth and
leapfrog Bologna. Unbeaten so far in 2024 with the draw
with Milan last time out actually halting a winning run
of six straight wins in all competitions,
Atalanta will make the short journey
with the intention of taking points.
Inter should have enough about them to negotiate the game
as they have done so far at every hurdle so far
but they’ll have to do so without Hakan Calhanoglu,
who has picked up a muscle strain.

To little surprise, Sassuolo have finally parted company
with their much maligned coach Alessio Dionisi.
The former Empoli manager was beaten 3-2 at home
by his old side which proved to be the final nail
in the coffin and the club parted company with him on Sunday.
Once thought of as a next great coaching hope,
Dionisi’s time at the helm has been largely positive
but it is right that a change has been made
with the team now seemingly well entrenched
in an unthinkable relegation battle.
One team who are no aliens to managerial changes
are their visitors Napoli who are on their third manager
of the season after Francesco Calzona came
into the hot seat last week following the firing of Walter Mazzarri.
The Neapolitans have endured back to back 1-1 draws
in Europe and in domestic action since the change of coach
so will want to get that first win under their belts
to help them get the monkey off their back and
start pushing forward in a more positive manager.
New coach Calzona has been keen to point out
that the players are lacking in confidence and decision making
which was the main factor for their loss of the lead
against relegation battling Cagliari in a game
that they should have enough about them to win.
Both teams here are hugely low on confidence and need a result.
There’s a feeling here that they might cancel each other out and
settle for a draw rather than risk losing again.

강등권인 칼리아리와의 경기에서 주도권을 빼앗긴 주요 요인으로
자신감과 의사결정력이 부족하다는 점을 지적해 왔습니다.
