Milan vs Inter

Monday night sees arguably the biggest domestic battle 

of the two Milan clubs take place this century. 

Whilst the two sides contested the Champions League semi-final 

last season, this meeting could well shape the landscape 

of both clubs’ immediate futures as well as bragging rights 

that could be used as ammunition for centuries. 

Inter come into this one knowing that a victory 

will see them officially win the Scudetto

at the expense of their closest rivals. 

A draw would have been enough had they beaten Cagliari 

at San Siro on Sunday night but a late revival, 

led by Eldor Shomurodov and Nicola Viola, 

saw the Nerazzuri held to a 2-2 draw. 

It is safe to say that some of the swagger 

that Inter have shown throughout the season has started 

to fade in recent weeks following their departure 

from the Champions League added to the fact 

that they are understandably fatigued 

following a rather brutal schedule of games 

that has seen them face all of the league’s top sides since Christmas. 

Inter are deservedly top and have played some 

of Europe’s best football this term 

but Milan have picked up themselves since the turn 

of the year and despite nearly falling to a shock 

defeat last weekend at relegation threatened Sassuolo, 

Stefano Pioli’s team maintain a stronghold on second spot. 

Former Inter boss Pioli has only beaten 

his former side twice though since he took over 

from Marco Giampaolo almost four years ago and 

has seen Inter get the better of his side in each competition. 

For their fans, they cannot afford to lose this one. 

If Inter were to win the Scudetto against their closest rivals 

in what is officially Milan’s home game, 

the fans of the Nerazzuri could hold this 

over their cousins for an eternity. 

Inter look tired but can they raise their game and 

become immortalised within their fan base? 

A draw is a safe bet. 

Prediction: Milan 2-2 Inter 

AC밀란 vs 인테르

공식적으로 스쿠데토에서 우승할 수 있다는 것을 알고 있습니다. 

일요일 밤 산 시로에서 칼리아리를 이겼다면 

무승부로 충분했을 것이지만 엘도르 쇼무도프와 

니콜라 비올라가 이끄는 늦은 부활은 2-2 무승부를 기록했습니다. 

인테르나치오날레가 시즌 내내 보여준 스웨거 중 일부는 

챔피언스 리그를 떠난 후 

최근 몇 주 동안 사라지기 시작했다고 봐도 무방할 것입니다. 

크리스마스 이후 리그의 모든 탑 팀과 맞붙은 

다소 잔인한 경기 일정에 이어 피곤한 것은 이해할 수 있습니다. 

인테르나치오날레는 이번 시즌 유럽 최고의 축구를 해왔지만 

밀란은 지난 주말 강등으로 충격적인 패배를 당할 뻔했음에도 불구하고 

2위를 유지하고 있습니다. 

전 인터 보스 피올리는 

거의 4년 전 마르코 지암파올로로부터 인수한 이후로 

이전 팀을 두 번밖에 이기지 못했고, 

인테르가 각 대회에서 자신의 팀을 능가하는 것을 보았습니다. 

그들의 팬들을 위해, 그들은 이것을 잃을 여유가 없습니다.

Roma vs Bologna

Even with it now increasingly likely that Serie A 

will gain a fifth Champions League spot at the end 

of this year due to their excellent recent performances 

in Europe meaning that the co-efficient is high, 

both of these teams will want to finish fourth and 

make sure that they aren’t having to gamble on 

that fifth spot becoming available. 

Whilst Roma can directly affect he co-efficient themselves 

as they remain in the Europa League, Bologna have 

to rely on their fairy-tale season reaching its deserved conclusion.

Thiago Motta’s team have had all kinds of superlatives 

thrown their way this campaign and 

rightly so as a side that has spent the majority 

of the past two decades languishing in the middle and 

lower reaches of Serie A, with a couple of trips to Serie B 

due to financial mismanagement, 

now finds itself within touching distance 

of achieving its improbable dream and 

playing in Europe’s top competition next campaign. 

A win here will put them in the driving seat and 

move them seven points clear of their opponents 

with just five games left of the season.

(six in Roma’s case as they will have to potentially 

replay their game against Udinese 

that was abandoned last weekend.) 

The Rossoblu will have to win it 

without talismanic midfielder Lewis Ferguson 

who has sadly suffered a season ending ligament injury 

that could see him miss out on the Euros this summer with Scotland. 

Asking them to win away in Rome is a huge task and 

with Paulo Dybala expected to be back fit and ready to start, 

it will take some doing if Bologna are to take all three points 

from Daniele De Rossi’s highly charged Giallorossi. 

Bologna have been brave and they deserve 

to reach their goals but without their skipper and 

with a strong Roma side in their path, 

this could be a step too far for Motta’s team. 

Prediction: Roma 2-0 Bologna

Cagliari vs Juventus

Cagliari shocked all of Serie A again last weekend 

as they managed to go toe to toe 

with the runaway leaders and come back 

from being behind twice to become only the fourth side 

to take points away from San Siro this season. 

They could have won it in the dying seconds 

too had Nicola Viola’s header managed to sneak 

its way past Yann Sommer 

but to even manage a draw against a team unbeaten 

in league action since September is impressive,

especially when you factor in the knowledge 

that Cagliari are amongst the league’s worst travellers, 

with only Frosinone picking up less points 

than them on the road this season prior to the game. 

Fresh off the back of said draw and their previous victory 

over Atalanta, confidence is now suddenly high

around Sardinia and wily old Claudio Ranieri is beginning 

to make people dream. 

The relegation battle at the bottom of Serie A changes 

by the day but at the time of writing, 

Cagliari’s two most recent results have dragged them up 

to 14th spot and a rather crucial four points clear 

of the dreaded relegation spaces. 

A stuttering Juventus make their way to the previously 

named Sardegna Arena coming off the back 

of a dire 0-0 draw in the Turin derby and 

are on a run of just two victories since January. 

Their coach Max Allegri has coached and

played for Cagliari but won’t be returning to renew friendships, 

his job is to save his side’s struggles and 

ensure they consolidate their top four place. 

Whilst Juve are no doubt stronger on paper and 

boasting some top players in their ranks, 

the momentum of Cagliari could see them cause a shock here. 

If you’re hoping for a shock from any game this weekend,

this could well be the one to predict. 

The home fans could really help their team here 

by making it a cauldron of noise. 

Prediction: Cagliari 2-1 Juventus

칼리아리 vs 유벤투스

칼리아리는 지난 주말 폭주하는 지도자들과 발끝까지 갔다가

승점을 따낸 4번째 팀이 되면서 

세리에A 전체를 다시 충격에 빠트렸습니다. 

니콜라 비올라의 헤딩골이 얀 소머를 살짝 지나쳤다면 

몇 초 만에 승리할 수도 있었을 것이지만, 

9월 이후 리그 활동에서 무패를 기록한 팀을 상대로 

무승부를 기록하는 것도 인상적입니다. 

특히 칼리아리가 리그 최악의 여행자 중 한 명이라는 사실을 고려할 때, 

경기 전 올 시즌에는 프로시노네만이 자신들보다 적은 승점을 획득했습니다. 

그 무승부와 이전 아탈란타전 승리에 힘입어, 

이제 사르데냐를 중심으로 갑자기 자신감이 높아졌고, 

나이가 많은 클라우디오 라니에리는 사람들을 

꿈꾸게 하기 시작했습니다. 

세리에 A 최하위의 강등권 싸움은 하루가 다르게 변하지만, 

글을 쓰는 시점에서 칼리아리의 가장 최근 두 번의 결과로 인해 

14위로 올라섰고, 우려되는 강등권에서 다소 중요한 4점 차로 떨어졌습니다. 

말을 더듬는 유벤투스는 토리노 더비에서 0-0으로 

처참한 무승부를 거두며 이전에 

이름이 붙었던 사르데냐 아레나로 진출해 

1월 이후 단 2승만을 기록하고 있습니다.

Verona vs Udinese

Udinese manager Gabriele Cioffi takes on his former club 

in yet another relegation shoot out. 

Every week there seems to be a number of matches 

that contains teams going head to head 

in the battle for survival and this weekend is no different. 

Udinese have had a difficult past week. 

After taking a shock lead against Inter last Monday night, 

they found themselves heartbroken 

by a Davide Frattesi stoppage time winner, 

something that Verona experienced earlier on in the campaign. 

They were then involved in the abandoned match 

against Roma during Sunday teatime, 

a game which they also led in thanks to Roberto Pereyra. 

Two tough games have brought no reward 

so a trip to Verona becomes all the more important. 

A 2-2 draw was the result in the return game 

after now Napoli winger Cyril Ngonge managed 

to steal a point for struggling Verona. 

Marco Baroni’s team currently sit outside the drop zone 

by just a point and have occupied the bottom five places 

for almost the entire campaign, as they did last season. 

Their inability to score goals costs them 

despite their rugged and brave style meaning 

that they’re no pushovers and they are 

yet to be truly thumped this year. 

No team will want to lose this 

but the pressure will be a on the hosts a little more 

as they will be backed by their own crowd. 

Can Udinese summon the quality 

that they have shown against top sides? 

Too close to call. 

Prediction: Verona 0-0 Udinese

Sassuolo vs Lecce

Whilst Lecce have improved since the arrival of Luca Gotti, 

they aren’t quite safe yet and a trip to Reggio Emilia 

to face a desperate Sassuolo isn’t probably their fixture 

of choice this coming weekend. 

Despite leading by a two-goal cushion on two occasions 

at home to Milan, Sassuolo could only manage a point and 

due to results elsewhere, they remain in the bottom three. 

What was encouraging though for Davide Ballardini’s team 

was the quality shown by last season’s wonder 

Armand Lauriente and top scorer Andrea Pinamonti, 

who both put on impressive displays in front of goal. 

This season has been nothing short of a disaster 

for the Neroverdi but there are brief signs 

that the team are awaking from their nightmare slumber. 

With their home fans behind them, 

a win here is massively needed and 

could well give them a boost going into their final four games 

as well as potentially lifting them out

of the bottom three if results go their way. 

Lecce are improved themselves thanks to a managerial change 

as mentioned and will want to keep that run going and

a win here for them could almost mathematically guarantee their safety. 

In short, if Sassuolo attack like they did against Milan 

but can keep their defence tight, 

they will have enough to win this and boy do they need it. 

Can Lecce keep them out? 

It will take some doing.  

Prediction: Sassuolo 3-1 Lecce

득점왕 안드레아 피나몬티가 보여준 자질이었습니다. 

둘 다 골 앞에서 인상적인 활약을 펼쳤습니다.

이번 시즌은 네로베르디에게 재앙이나 다름없지만 

팀이 악몽 같은 잠에서 깨어나고 있다는 짧은 징후가 있습니다.

홈 팬들을 뒤로 한 상황에서 승리는 매우 필요하며, 

결과가 뜻대로 진행될 경우 최종 4경기에 진출하는 것은 물론 

하위 3위권 밖으로 밀려날 가능성도 있습니다.

레체는 언급된 바와 같이 경영진의 변화 덕분에 스스로 개선되었으며,

그 운영을 계속 유지하고 싶어할 것이며, 

여기서 승리하면 거의 수학적으로 안전을 보장할 수 있습니다.

간단히 말해서, 

사수올로가 밀란을 상대로 했던 것처럼 공격하지만 

수비를 탄탄하게 유지할 수 있다면, 

그들은 이것을 이길 만큼 충분할 것이고

Monza vs Atalanta 

Atalanta simply cannot afford any more slip ups in their quest 

to finish in the Champions League slots. 

Despite blowing Liverpool away at Anfield just over a week ago, 

they’ve picked up just one point 

from their last two league fixtures. 

A surprise loss away in Sardinia against Cagliari was then 

followed up by a disappointing draw at home to Verona 

in a game in which they led 2-0 and 

were seemingly cursing to victory. 

The short trip to Monza this weekend won’t be straightforward 

as they’ll find themselves met with a side 

who are intent on finishing as high up in Serie A 

as they possibly can in their second season at this level. 

Another factor to add into the mix is the idea 

that Monza’s highly rated young coach Rafaelle Palladino 

is said to be earning admiring glances from clubs higher 

in the table so expect him to be building his side up 

to show off what they can do against some of the league’s elite. 

They’ve managed to take points off both Milan and 

Roma in recent times and will be intent on trying to show 

that they aren’t simply settling for a dour midtable finish 

and float their way through the rest of the season. 

Given that Atalanta are on the road for this one 

makes it tougher but their desperate need 

for three points means that they’ll be fired up. 

Should Gianluca Scamacca be trusted again 

from the start and show some of the star quality 

that we’ve seen from him over the past week 

that has seen him score three times in his last two matches, 

they should be able to escape from the Brianteo with points. 

Prediction: Monza 1-2 Atalanta

자신의 팀을 구축할 것으로 기대하고 있다는 생각도 

이 조합에 추가되어야 할 요소입니다.

그들은 최근 밀란과 로마에서 승점을 얻는데 성공했으며, 

그들이 단순히 무미건조한 마무리에 만족하고 

남은 시즌 동안 자신들의 길을 띄우는 것이 

아니라는 것을 보여주기 위해 노력할 것입니다.

Empoli vs Napoli 

Davide Nicola’s Empoli will have to be at their best this weekend 

as they look to pull off another almighty shock and 

beat the Scudetto holders Napoli for the second time this season.

Under previous boss Aurelio Andreazzoli, 

the Florence based outfit pulled off the unthinkable and 

stole a late win in Naples in the reverse fixture thanks 

to a sensational finish from Atalanta loanee Viktor Kovalenko. 

Ironically, it is the Ukrainian’s only goal so far this season. 

Memories of that match don’t live long in the memory 

for Napoli fans quite like they do for those of Empoli 

as they resemble something that is more 

of a nightmare reminder of one of their many low points of this term. 

Francesco Calzona’s team are currently on course 

to become the worst title defenders in the three points era 

as they find themselves nearly thirty points worse off 

than they were at this stage last year. 

Like Empoli, they find themselves on manager number three 

of the season and where Rudi Garcia and Walter Mazzarri failed, 

interim and current Slovakia coach Calzona has largely excelled 

but is starting to see his team’s form slide away. 

A good showing in the Champions League and 

the beating of Juventus looked to have allowed them 

to turn the corner but just one win in their last six, 

including a thumping by Atalanta has seen them fall away 

in their quest to finish in the top five. 

With Empoli fighting for their lives in the middle 

of a relegation dogfight, they will battle in this one 

for their lives but will that be enough to stop a side 

in Napoli who are superior in quality? 

Unlikely. Stranger things have happened though. 

Prediction: Empoli 0-2 Napoli

올 시즌 두 번째로 스쿠데토 챔피언 나폴리를 꺾기 위해

피렌체를 기반으로 한 그 의상은 생각할 수 없었던 것을 해냈고,

늦게 승리를 거두었습니다.

아이러니하게도 이번 시즌 우크라이나인의 유일한 골입니다.

현 슬로바키아 감독인 칼초나는 대체로 뛰어나지만 

그의 팀의 형태가 서서히 사라지기 시작했습니다.

챔피언스 리그에서의 선전과 유벤투스의 패배는 

코너를 돌 수 있게 해준 것처럼 보였지만, 

아탈란타의 강타를 포함하여, 

그들의 마지막 6경기에서 단지 1승만이 

그들이 상위 5위 안에 들기 위한

Frosinone battled hard to earn a point in Naples last weekend 

but will have to do it all over again

as they find themselves on the road again. 

This time they make the long trek up north to Turin 

to take on one of the league’s most miserly defences 

in the shape of Ivan Juric’s Torino. 

La Granata have enjoyed another solid season of progress 

and despite their inability to beat their nearest and 

most bitter rivals Juventus last weekend, 

they’ll be in dominant mood as they look 

to revive their very slim hopes of qualifying for Europe. 

Speculation continues to surround their highly rated 

coach Juric who is alleged to have said 

that he will walk at the end of the season 

should his side not reach the European places. 

The work done by the former Crotone coach 

since his arrival from Hellas Verona almost three years ago 

cannot be questioned and should he leave the club 

in the summer, he will definitely be leaving it 

in a far better place than he found it. 

His opposite number Eusebio Di Francesco 

finds his stock falling ever so slightly 

as he currently seems unable to turn 

around his side’s alarming drop off that has seen them 

fall into the bottom three in recent weeks. 

Despite the highs of August and

September in which the team looked like

they were going to be a solid addition to the top flight, 

the leaky defence, largely exposed due to their brave 

attacking style, has been penetrated more often 

than any this calendar year and remains their Achilles heel. 

Torino don’t score many 

but they should be able to score enough 

to win them this one and

like more pressure on their opponents.

Only two players (Lautaro Martinez and Dusan Vlahovic) 

have scored more goals in Serie A this season 

than their Icelandic forward Albert Gudmundsson 

who now finds himself on an incredible run 

of five strikes in his last six Serie A matches. 

The former AZ player has ten goals for club and 

country since the turn of the year with such form leading 

to speculation that current league leaders Inter 

are plotting a summer move to take him to San Siro. 

Lazio can’t quite say they’ve truly enjoyed this campaign 

and even the arrival of a new coach has yet to really 

have much impact on a team

who are set to undergo a period of severe transition. 

With Luis Alberto coming out following last week’s match and 

speaking about his desire to leave the club, 

he may well be one in a long line of players 

who helped the side win the Coppa Italia 

under Simone Inzaghi as well as finish second 

in the league under Maurizio Sarri last term 

to then now leave the club. 

Felipe Anderson looks set to return to Brazil 

with his contract up in the summer and 

rumours are beginning to rumble

on about Ciro Immobile and Mattia Zaccagni too. 

A nice way to round off their legacy at the club would be 

to finish in some form of European football and 

that would require them to win away in Genoa, something 

that two of the top three couldn’t do. A close one to call.

Salernitana vs Fiorentina 

It is easy to forget that Salernitana are still alive. 

Despite being sat in last place, 

a place they’ve occupied for the majority of the season, 

the side from Salerno are for all intents and 

purposes competing until the end of the season. 

Should results go against them though 

and Fiorentina beat them in this fixture, 

their return to Serie B, following a three year stint 

in the top flight, will be confirmed. 

Fiorentina are still unable to shake off 

their rather ridiculous underachievers tag. 

Their at times mesmerising style of play 

that is built to bring the best out of some brilliant flair players 

such as Nico Gonzalez and Lucas Beltran 

is continually lacking bite that means they continue 

to pick up less points than their easy 

on the eye style perhaps deserves. 

Even the arrival of the once prolific Andrea Belotti on loan 

from Roma hasn’t given them a much needed finisher 

and has led to speculation that perhaps

their coach Vincenzo Italiano has taken them 

as far as he possibly can. 

Similar to the job done by Ivan Juric at Torino, 

with a little more continental experience and 

success sprinkled on top, 

Italiano has guided a sleepy side from the bottom end 

of the league to their rightful slot

at the top end competing for Europe. 

Can La Viola finish strong and make a late push for their coach? 

They should win this comfortably.
