Toulouse v PSG
PSG, on current form, are one of the best sides,
perhaps even the best side in Europe.
Domestically and in Europe, they currently look unstoppable.
They are led by Ousmane Dembélé, who on current form,
is the best player in the world.
He has an incredible 18 goals in his last 11 matches,
launching an unlikely challenge for the Ballon d'Or,
if the form can be sustained.
Bradley Barcola is not at the level that he showed
at the start of the season,
but he is the only one of PSG's incredible forward line
that is lacking confidence.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia netted his first goal for
Les Parisiens against Monaco in the 4-1 win last weekend,
whilst Désiré Doué, whilst not putting up the same numbers
as Dembélé or Barcola, is scintillating to watch and
capable of creating chances out of nothing.
Clean sheets aren't easy to come by
(they haven't kept one in their last seven games in Ligue 1)
but they are easily capable of outscoring any opponent;
they have 32 goals already in 2025 in
just 11 games in all competitions.
Toulouse, meanwhile, have the opposite problem.
Largely solid, especially against weaker opponents,
they struggle to score goals; only Angers, Saint-Étienne,
Le Havre, and Montpellier, all relegation strugglers,
have scored fewer than Le TéFéCé.
PSG give up chances, that is a fact,
but are they capable of beating the reigning Ligue 1 champions,
who as things stand, are yet to lose any domestic match this season?
It certainly doesn't seem so and given the momentum behind PSG,
any point would be a major shock,
even if it would be unwise to rule out
Toulouse getting on the scoreline.

Where are Lens heading?
It is a question that begs to be answered.
There has been a complete lack of sporting ambition in recent months.
That lack of ambition is the result of mounting financial issues
that saw Les Sang et Or sell all of their best players in January.
The first-choice centre-back pairing, Kevin Danso and
Abdukoir Khusanov, the No.1 goalkeeper, Brice Samba,
and now Przemyslaw Frannkowski, have all left.
That happened despite Lens manager Will Still
being given "promises", in his own words,
that it wouldn't happen.
But it did and it led to what Still described as a
"complete non-match" against Nice, during which they lost 2-0.
It could have been more with Lens not existing in that match.
Lens, to replace the players that have departed,
have been forced to recruit young players that clearly,
as things stand, are not at the same level as
the players that they are meant to replace.
And that shows on the pitch and despite Still,
who has shown himself to be more than competent in
his first years as a manager,
the signs are certainly worrying.
As things stand, there is a big gap in quality between
Lens and Strasbourg.
It is odd to think; two seasons ago,
Lens finished just one point behind PSG in Ligue 1 and
Strasbourg were in a relegation fight.
But the tables have turned, even if Les Sang et
Or remain ahead of Les Alsaciens in the table.
But the momentum is with Strasbourg,
who have begun 2025 strongly and registered another
win against Montpellier.
With a win by two or more goals, they would go ahead of Lens
in the table and you wouldn't bet against them.
However,
some form of reaction would be expected from
this well-drilled Lens side, even if quality is sorely lacking.
Prediction: Lens 1-1 Strasbourg

There are signs of revival that were confirmed against
Saint-Étienne last weekend.
It was the first time all season that Les Rennais won
back-to-back matches in Ligue 1 and they have effectively
removed themselves from the relegation conversation.
It isn't spectacular and against Saint-Étienne
they conceded plenty of chances, especially in
the first half but just were not punished.
But there has been a large squad rebuild,
making up for the really poor summer recruitment and
the technical level of the squad has increased.
It puts them at a superior level to most clubs in Ligue 1
but not above Lille, that is for sure.
To get something against Les Dogues,
they will have to be better both on and off the ball
than they have been in the last two matches.
It is asking things of new manager Habib Beye,
who is facing his first real challenge as a Ligue 1 manager.
But Lille are in an odd period too.
Their 2-1 defeat to Le Havre - at home - was a huge shock.
Bruno Genesio reacted furiously to the defeat
but it is not abnormal to go through a period of inconsistency a
fter a long unbeaten run is brought to an end,
as happened in January.
Prior to the loss to Liverpool on 21st January,
they had not lost since mid-September.
There is not quite a crisis of confidence but there is an uncertainty
as to which Lille side will turn up and for a side like Rennes,
who are trying to find their feet under
their third manager of the season,
there is reason for optimism.
Expect both teams to score in what looks set to be a close encounter.
Prediction: Rennes 3-2 Lille

Brest are having a strong 2025, despite losses to PSG and
Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Les Brestois also recently lost to PSG in the league
but bar that result, they have won four of their last five in Ligue 1.
They are consistent and winning against sides
that they should beat; Auxerre certainly fall into that category.
Brest have been helped notably by the return of Pierre Lees-Melou.
There is a big difference between Brest with
Lees-Melou and without him.
With most of their big players present
(only Bradley Locko is absent in terms of the key players)
they are a difficult proposition and
they should have the tools to beat an Auxerre side
that have not won since November,
despite putting in plenty of good performances in that time.
They remain a dangerous team, albeit a less dangerous team
away from home and so Brest should edge this one,
despite the demoralising mid-week defeat to PSG
in the Champions League.
Prediction: Brest 2-1 Auxerre

Worryingly for opponents, Marseille have found consistency.
It is no doubt the fruit of their recent recruitment.
You look at their midfield and bar PSG,
there is none better and there is no doubt
that no club in Ligue 1 has more experience and
leaders in the middle of the park than OM.
Already possessing the likes of Adrien Rabiot,
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Valentin Rongier,
Ismaël Bennacer bolstered their ranks further.
It is a complete midfield, an experienced one and
one capable of really controlling matches.
They have all found their feet and are now truly settled
and those kinds of matches,
which were difficult at the start of the season,
should be handled with greater ease.
There is confidence brimming in this side,
including amid the forwards and so anything other than
a comofrtable win for Marseille would come as a great surprise.
Prediction: Marseille 4-1 Saint-Étienne

Monaco may have shipped four against PSG last week
but it wasn't necessarily a fair reflection of the game.
Monaco, for much of the game, ran Les Parisiens close
but there is no denying that there are issues in defence.
Since Wilfried Singo's injury,
there has been a fragility and Mohammed Salisu has
failed to convince when filling in.
The former is expected to return very soon
but perhaps not in time to fac Nantes and so
that gives Les Canaris some hope.
They drew a blank against Brest last weekend
but prior to that had looked in good form with
Mostafa Mohamed and Matthis Abline playing well in recent weeks.
Monaco, however, should be a step too far,
even if the Breton club have drawn three of their
last four gams against the Principality club.
The last meeting between these two at
the Stade Louis II ended in a 4-0 win for Monaco and
this looks a more likely scenario than a draw.
Prediction: Monaco 2-0 Nantes

It feels like normal service resumed at Montpellier.
After a mini revival at the end of January,
Jean-Louis Gasset's side have lost the last two games
by a 2-0 scoreline.
Without Mousa Al-Taamari and Akor Adams,
they never looked like scoring in those games and
the writing seems on the wall.
The goals aren't going in as frequently
but they still have comfortably the worst defence in
the division and against Lyon,
who netted four at the weekend,
this rusks being a one-way encounter.
Goals came from all angles in their 4-0 in against
Reims and they were really boosted by
the return of Malick Fofana,
as well as the return to form of Rayan Cherki,
who after a difficult January, perhaps affected
by the incessant transfer speculation,
is once again the playmaker that this OL side need and
in many ways is reliant upon.
Prediction: Montpellier 0-3 Lyon

On current form, Reims are the worst side in Ligue 1.
Their last win in the league dates back to
November 10th and in that time,
they have lost five games.
It is a case of fine margins at times
but there aren't enough chances being created and
with Marshall Munetsi and Emmuel Agbadou leaving
for Wolverhampton Wanderers, their defensive solidity
has been very compromised.
Under interim manager Samba Diawara,
who has had a first full week with his squad,
he will likely go back to basics and try and shut this Angers side out.
A draw is needed,
not only to get their season back on track
but to pull themselves away from the relegation zone.
Prediction: Reims 0-0 Angers
랭스 vs 앙제

Le Have's win against Lille was
certainly one of the shocks of the season.
It had the feel of a complete freak result.
The expected goals in that game reflected that with Lille
creating the better chances without being rewarded.
It is a big win though for Le Havre and one
that will fill them with confidence.
OGC Nice, meanwhile, continued their excellent form
with another big win over Lens.
They dominated that game from start to finish and
should have won by more.
This Nice side, who are now fully in sync with Franck Haise,
are a formidable outfit and they have quietely climbed
onto the podium in Ligue 1.
Goals are going in and injured players are coming back;
only Terem Moffi, Morgan Sanson,
and Pablo Rosario are yet to return.
At one time, 12 first-team players were out injured.
The club's president always said
that he would be excited to see this team at or near full strength.
Well, that is what they now have and the results are impressive.
It is difficult to see Le Havre containing Le Gym but
that is exactly what was thought
when Le Havre faced Lille last week and we saw what happened there.
Prediction: Le Havre 1-2 Nice
