Strasbourg v Lyon
Strasbourg's excellent run continued against
Toulouse before the international break.
A 2-1 win,
which came without some of the side's biggest names,
extended their unbeaten run to six,
whilst five of those have been victories.
In many ways, therefore,
the international break came at the wrong time for Les Alsaciens,
who have seen their momentum cut.
The win over Le TéFéCé came in the absence of Habib Diarra,
Abakar Sylla, Andrew Omabamidele and Dilane Bakwa.
It is hoped that all could be back to face Lyon,
although Diarra is the biggest doubt of the lot as
he recovers from an ankle sprain.
Should RCSA be at full strength,
they will have hope of continuing their run.
Liam Rosenior's young side can smell the scent of European
football and that is proving to be a big motivator for players
who have never competed in any form of international
competition in their very short careers.
However, against Lyon,
they come up against a direct competitor for
the Europa League and Europa Conference League places.
Paulo Fonseca's side have lost just one of their
last eight in all competitions and that came against PSG;
there is no shame in that.
Their forward players are hitting top form.
Georges Mikautadze was on fire before the international break,
as was Rayan Cherki.
Both carried that form into the international break,
however, the latter sustained an injury against England's U21s.
Cherki suffered a bruised foot.
He will be expected to return against Strasbourg
but should he fail to recover, he will be a huge miss.
Malick Fofana is definitely out in what is a considerable blow for OL.
He will be out for three weeks with a knee injury,
whilst Thiago Almada is unlikely to be able to start due to
returning late from international duty.
Regardless,
OL should have no issue getting on the scoresheet.
It is more a question of keeping it tight at the other end.

Monaco v Nice
Monaco's form has been inconsistent since
the turn of the year with the Principality club only securing
back-to-back wins in Ligue 1 once in 2025.
That inconsistency must be resolved
if Monaco are to finish on the podium and
finish ahead of Saturday's opponent Nice.
Monaco were rewarded for their persistence against
Angers before the international break.
Predictably,
it was Mika Biereth who broke the deadlock before
Maghnes Akliouche doubled the advantage in
the final minutes of the encounter.
There was room for reassurance for Monaco,
who have all too often made costly defensive errors
against 'inferior' sides, as they did against Toulouse a week earlier.
With Philipp Köhn back in goal, Les Monégasques did
look more assured and did well to
unlock Angers' stubborn low block.
There could be further reinforcements against Nice too.
Aleksandr Golovin will be hoping to make his return,
whilst Folarin Balogun could feature for
the first time this year after recovering from shoulder surgery.
Le Gym, meanwhile,
have recently found the Stade Louis II a happy hunting ground,
however, their confidence will have been knocked
by the way they headed into the international break.
A defeat, despite a good performance,
against Lyon was followed up by a frustrating draw against Auxerre,
as Franck Haise's side squandered
their advantage in the dying seconds.
Nice should have put the game to bed before
that but were wasteful with their chances.
They can't afford to be so profligate against Monaco.
This one is on a knife's edge but goals do seem to be a guarantee.
Prediction: Monaco 2-2 Nice

Lille v Lens
The tables can turn quickly in football.
In opposing ways,
Lille and Lens have found that out in March.
Lille were fancied as not only one of the top sides in France
but one of the top sides in Europe at the start of the month.
However,
a nightmare week just before the international break
not only saw them crash out of the Champions League,
it also put them on the back foot in the race to
return to the prestigious European competition.
In their last five games in all competitions,
they have won just once,
with that win coming against bottom side Montpellier and
coming thanks to a single goal
- far from emphatic against a side that
have been played off the park for much of the season.
The loss against Nantes before the international break was worrying.
It came with Les Canaris down to 10 men
with LOSC not only failing to capitalise on their numerical
advantage but even contriving to lose the game in
the dying moments.
Players are falling out of form, notably Jonathan David,
who may now be distracted by the uncertainty
surrounding his future.
The Canadian's contract is expiring at the end of the season,
as is Angel Gomes',
whilst Edon Zhegrova is almost certain to leave.
The Kosovan is yet to feature in 2025
but he could make his return from injury in the Derby du Nord.
His return would be a welcome one for a team needing re-energising.
Lens, meanwhile, were down in the dumps in February.
With all of their big names departing,
the quality in the side was simply not the same and
it showed on the pitch week after week.
But they went into the international break on a high.
After beating Marseille at the Vélodrome,
Will Still's side then beat Rennes at home.
Quite the turnaround in fortunes and one very much
orchestrated by the manager who is getting
more out of this side than he really ought to.
That being said, they remain underdogs here
but anything can happen in a derby and Lille are reeling.
Prediction: Lille 2-1 Lens

Marseille went into the international break with a whimper.
So imperious for much of 2025,
there was a downtick with back-to-back losses against
Lens and then PSG and three losses in their last four.
It isn't quite panic stations for Roberto De Zerbi's side
but there is cause for concern.
The issue is goals.
Amine Gouiri is scoring less after a great start,
whilst Mason Greenwood is currently a shadow of himself.
The electric free-scoring forward from
the start of the season has gone missing.
His poor form has not been lost on De Zerbi,
who has publicly criticised the Englishman and
even dropped him for Le Classique.
Neal Maupay is - and never has been -
a goalscorer and so De Zerbi needs to once again
start extracting performance out of Gouiri and Greenwood.
Regardless of current form, a reaction will certainly
be expected against Reims, even if they got a draw
against Brest before the international break.
Anything other than a win - and a comfortable one
- will start to draw much greater concern in Marseille.
Prediction: Reims 0-3 Marseille

a very comfortable win for PSG?
Luis Enrique's side are in a league of their own and
have been all season.
Their forwards remain in good form with Gonçalo Ramos
and the prolific Ousmane Dembélé notably scoring
during the international break.
Les Parisiens will, however,
be without Kang-in Lee, who suffered an ankle
injury on international duty with South Korea.
He is expected to miss around two weeks of action.
He has, however, been used as an option largely off the bench.
Saint-Étienne played well against Montpellier before
the international break before the game was
abandoned due to violence in the stands.
But Les Verts' form and quality are irrelevant and
pale in comparison to what PSG bring to the table.
Prediction: Saint-Étienne 1-4 PSG

These are two good sides, relatively consistent and
challenging for Europe to varying degrees.
Brest are certainly the best placed to secure European
football next season and they certainly have the individuals to
get them over the line but Toulouse have a solid
system and means of breaking down teams,
all while staying defensively solid.
All the ingredients are there for a very tight game
between these two evenly-matched sides.
There could be an element of these two sides neutralising
each other and the midfield battle will be a close one,
making chance creation perhaps difficult for both sides.
Transitional moments could be key in this one and
Brest are the more likely to fabricate them.
Prediction: Toulouse 1-1 Brest

Auxerre v Montpellier
Montpellier are in complete disarray.
Jean-Louis Gasset offered his resignation after
the scenes a fortnight ago.
With La Paillade 2-0 down to Saint-Étienne,
the game was abandoned after MHSC's fans became violent.
The consequences of that abandonment are not yet known.
A financial penalty is a given, a points deduction is possible,
whilst they could also forfeit the match.
A decision will be made next week.
Either way, Gasset has said that he has given up
all hope of keeping Montpellier in Ligue 1 and
so offered to resign at the start of last week.
That offer was rejected by MHSC's hierarchy.
But the club look resigned to their fate.
The skies are brighter over Auxerre,
who have lost just one of their last six games.
Christophe Pélissier's side remain strong at home too a
nd will look to finish the campaign on a high.
Against relegation fodder, anything other than three points,
comfortably taken, is a failure for L'ÁJA.
Montpellier are the only team in Europe's top
five divisions yet to keep a clean sheet this season;
don't expect that to change this weekend.

Angers v Rennes
Angers will have been disappointed not to hold on
for a draw against Monaco having defended
so resolutely but more disappointing will be the loss of Himad Abdelli.
The playmaker suffered a muscular injury against
Les Monégasques and was forced to withdraw from
the Algeria squad.
If he doesn't recover in time to face Rennes,
he will be a huge miss and it would leave
Alexandre Dujeux's side without any creative outlet.
Rennes, however,
won't be brimming with confidence
after registering two defeats on the bounce.
Bar the match against Montpellier - an outlier -
goal-scoring has been an issue since Habib Beye's arrival.
Rennes' games have often been decided by fine
margins and this one could be once again,
even if the Breton side are the favourites here.
Prediction: Angers 0-1 Rennes

Le Havre were in the game until late on against free-scoring Lyon.
There is no denying that there has been an uptick in
form that has coincided with Didier Digard opting
for a more attacking style.
The defensive style that had worked under his predecessor,
Luka Elsner, never worked under Digard and with
their survival in Ligue 1 on the line,
a shift away from it was necessary.
The results have varied but there is
now more unpredictability in their games,
which is a good thing.
Les Ciel et Marines do, however,
remain embroiled in a battle for survival
- there is no doubt about that.
Will a meeting with one of the other Ligue 1 strugglers,
Nantes, lead to a change of approach? Perhaps.
But it would be unwise.
Lille were the latest side to find out how strong
Les Canaris are in transition and
it feels as though any and every mistake is punished at the minute.
Prediction: Le Havre 1-2 Nantes
